Hsinchu, Taiwan – October 12, 2025 – Semiconductor testing and packaging leader Sigurd Group (6257) announced today the signing of a renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with INAEnergy, which will supply green electricity to Sigurd Group companies, including Sigurd, Sigurd UTC , and Winstek.
Sigurd Group Chairman Sidney Huang emphasized the company’s commitment to global climate action:
“With the world moving toward net-zero emissions by 2050, and international regulations such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the U.S. Clean Competition Act coming into effect, along with growing RE100 adoption, Sigurd pledges to achieve 100% renewable energy and carbon neutrality by 2050, with an interim target of 30% renewable energy by 2030. This agreement demonstrates our determination to take concrete steps toward climate goals.”
For its first renewable energy purchase, Sigurd selected INAEnergy for its long-standing efforts in developing solar projects in areas with subsidence and poor farming conditions, while actively giving back to local communities. INAEnergy’s solar farms are fully self-developed, constructed, and operated, ensuring high-quality power supply and reliable service. The agreement adopts a group procurement model, enabling flexible contract design tailored to individual subsidiaries’ energy needs and allowing for scalable capacity adjustments amid market and supply chain fluctuations.
The renewable energy supply officially commenced on September 1, 2023, marking a significant milestone in Sigurd’s decarbonization roadmap and its commitment to the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
To further advance its low-carbon transformation, Sigurd established a Sustainability Development Committee in 2021 and later formed a Carbon Management Task Force. The company continues to invest in energy-efficient equipment upgrades and implement comprehensive carbon reduction strategies, reinforcing its resilience and competitiveness while aligning with international sustainability initiatives.
